Brian hails from Austin, TX and is a materials scientist and with expertise in X-ray Diffraction. He is in charge of the material science/XRD laboratory. Experimental options include Single Crystal (SC-XRD), Powder/Thin Film (PXRD), Small/Wide Angle (SAXS/WAXS), Glancing Angle (GAXRD), High-Resolution (HRXRD), and Reflectometry (XRR). In addition, Brian is responsible for the Magnetic Properties Measurement System (MPMS) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)/Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Brian joined the CIF in July of 2011. His other interests include camping, rock climbing, and snowboarding.
